Robotics!!!!!!!!!!
This week has seriously been really chaotic because FLL is tomorrow. I have been helping pain posters for the restrooms, Judge welcome signs, ect. I also helped carry the Lego table outside with Jesus Miraz to the outside of the auditorium, so that when the play is over we can set up really fast and go home early. Another thing that I did this week was clean the building room with Carolina and Anthony because we didn't have anything else to do. I asked Isabel, and Bianca they had anything, but they didn't need help with anything. After asking Bianca and Isabel I asked Martin if he needed help and he said that we could clean the room. I thought that this was just something really ridiculous; however. I decided to do it anyways and clean the room like most Freshman have done in the past.

Robotics!!!!!!!
Last Friday we had the LEGO scrimmage here at Carl Hayden high school. It turned out to be really well, but in the beginning it was a mass chaos. Everyone wasn't in their right position the scoring sheet that display the scores was malfunctioning, and Mr. Whitley wasn't back with the pizzas. Everybody was worried that the scrimmage would be a complete failure;however, Bianca magically fixed the program, everybody got in their rightful positions, and Mr.Whitley came back with the pizzas. What role did I play during the scrimmage you ask? My role on the team was to score the sheets that were given to us by the referee, and calculate the teams final score. To tell you the truth I thought that me and Bianca did a really good job. We both worked together as a team and got all the papers scored on time. The intimidating part about this whole thing is that the scrimmage was just a sample of what FLL is going to be about. If I thought that that the scrimmage was hectic then I can't imagine how the real thing is going to be like. On December third I will be helping Bianca score the massive amount of worksheets that need to be scored. The bad part about FLL is that me and Bianca aren't going to be sitting next to each other like in the scrimmage are only mean of communication would be a HAM radio.

Robotics!!!!!
Well, we finally completed the electrical components of the robot with the help of some veterans and our instructor Mr.Lajvardi. I found it really surprising how much work a robot needs to be created. The hardest part about this whole thing is that all the basic components of the robot interact with each other. This means that if one of the parts of the Robots malfunctions the whole network of peaces collapses. This is why the builders need to be careful, and make sure that the parts that they are using all work before they are placed in the Robot;because, if you don't you might have to rebuild the robot from scratch all over again. In conclusion the Robot is like a mass network of different components that if aren't placed right might malfunction and cause an error.

Robotics!!!!!!!!!!
This week I helped Isabel work on the electronic of the robot; it turned out to be extremely interesting. There might have been a few burns and incidents while doing this, but in the end we I accomplished my goal and learned how to solder. At first I was a little intimidated by the fact that I didn't know anything about what Isabel was talking about. I was really confused; however, it all turned out just fine with Isabel's. I also got the chance to bring my friend Carolina to try something new. She might be a little bit shy, but with the help of her friends and motivation from her peers she was able to reestablish her moral beliefs and try something new. This only showed me that Robotics isn't just about the Robot, but to motivate each other to get out of there comfort zone, and try something new.

Networking Workshop
Well, today after the workshop I was asked to read an article in Chief Delphi and this is my conclusion. There is a guy named Eduardo Fernandez a kid who has always had an interest for engineering. When he was 5 years old he figured out how to take apart a remote-control car; 8 years later, in 7th grade, he participated in the national first competition. He later led the construction of the EVROV robot arm, designed to lift and move instruments to assist astronauts with spacewalks. He also created a complementary 3-D video system that helps human operators gauge depth as they remotely operate the arm from inside their ship. In conclusion Eduardo Fernandez has shown a strong passion on becoming an engineer, and is attending Arizona State University in the fall to study mechanical engineering. The sad part about this story is that Eduardo's Father was recently deported to Mexico. I picked this article because it helped me realize that certain obstacles will always be there to barricate
our dreams, but to succeed in life we need to overcome our problems just like Eduardo did.

Robotics!!!!!!!
This week the sketch-up workshop took place; it was presented to us by John, Dillan, and Timmy. In this workshop I learned how to use Google sketch-up. I learned how to draw different 3 dimensional figures and alter the shape. I also learned that Robotics used the Google Sketch-up program to sketch the different things that they would like to build such as the robot. In conclusion this workshop turned out to be a complete success because I finally understood how Robotics works use this program to create all their different models with Google Sketch-up.

Programing Workshop!!!!!!
This week the programing presentation was presented to us by John. He explained to us about how programing is a very important factor in the Robotics team because without the programing factor the robot wouldn't even move. To program the robot John uses a programing language called Visual Basic. Visual Basic is a computer based program the allows users like myself to communicate with the computer. Another very important thing that I learned about while taking the workshop is that when we program the robot we are actually giving it instructions or different ways to perform a task. Its almost as if we are programing the brain of the robot or another name for it would be the motherboard. I also learned that programing is a very serious job that shouldn't be taken for granted.
